What does movement look like to you?

In terms of the body, movement is mobility, the ability to move freely and easily. In terms of the mind, movement is a feeling, an alteration in your brain that can affect your moods. Your feelings can influence your movement and your movement can impact your feelings. Discovering a way to move that elicits happiness and joy is an important part of your complete health.

For the past decade I have been teaching many different forms of movement such as running, swimming, biking, hiking, aerobics, stretching, strength training, and just having an adventure in the great outdoors! I personally enjoy many forms of movement and do not like to limit the possibilities, because there are so many! Physically altering experiences have led to adaptions in my own personal movement journey, which has given me an appreciation for mobility above and beyond. Knowing when to rest is foremost, and embracing the chance to move in a modified way is fundamental. I understand how decreased mobility, time constraints, and lack of space can affect how you move, and the goal is to help you discover ways around those limitations and find creative ways to integrate movement into your life, all while experiencing the shape of the mind and body coming together.

I look forward to sharing my movement journey and hope to inspire movement in you!
