Holiday French 75
This is the cranberry version of a French 75 with a homemade simple syrup and classic gin and champagne, perfect for any holiday gathering!
Ingredients:
1 ounce Gin
½ ounce Cranberry Simple Syrup, see recipe below
1 tsp Fresh lemon juice
3 oz Sparkling wine or Prosecco
Fresh Rosemary for garnish
Directions:
Combine the first 3 ingredients in a champagne flute then top with sparkling wine and a small sprig of rosemary. 1 serving
Cranberry Simple Syrup
This simple syrup can be made in advanced and added to teas, vanilla ice cream, pudding, or in your favorite bubbly cocktail. The citrus and spice make the cranberry nice!
Ingredients:
¼ cup sugar
1 cup Water
1 Cinnamon stick
1 Orange peel from 1 orange
1/3 cup Fresh cranberries cut in half
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring the mixture. Lower the heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until the mixture is syrupy and red. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a small glass container to let cool. Cover and refrigerate up to 1 week. Yields approximately 1/3 cup or 3 fluid oz.
